Systems Integrator

Data Center Access in Mexico

THE OPPORTUNITY

A reliable and experienced systems integrator provider had an immediate need to improve its network availability at its Guadalajara data center. The company`s goal was to solve the limitations in the metro network of Guadalajara due to lack of Points - of - Presence (POP) and Central Office (CO) diversity of network operators. Key requirements to support this project were network availability, price and delivery time - frame.

THE SOLUTION

One Source Networks implemented a solution that leveraged a new provider offering wireless Ethernet. This solution enabled OSN to bypass any one single point of failure at the incumbent, Telmex`s CO. The client`s key criteria for the solution selection were network availability, price and short installation interval. OSN sourced and delivered multiple options, and then traveled to Mexico with the client to meet the underlying provider in order to initiate project plan for implementation.

THE RESULTS

The dual access architecture enabled the client to achieve its target goal of a 100% network availability SLA. The deployment of wireless Ethernet provided the optimal diverse and alternative access solution. Furthermore, the company`s migration to Ethernet for its overall network operations enabled the company to deliver on - demand bandwidth upgrades effortlessly.

US Manufacturer

Managed VPN

 

THE OPPORTUNITY

This major US manufacturer required a cost - effective, secondary IPVPN network that could support full diversity from its primary VPN, crucial for maintaining its mission - critical sites. Furthermore, the client required the vendor to provide a turn - key hardware solution, including procurement, configuration, installation and management of its router infrastructure.

THE SOLUTION

One Source Networks designed and sourced a diverse IPVPN network that included a combination of regional providers determined to be using OSN`s proprietary Direct to On - Net database. OSN also delivered a full Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) solution that included custom router configurations, management and implementation. The solution delivered was designed specifically for the manufacturer with custom installation management, abiding by strict security requirements for on - site technicians.

THE RESULTS

The major US manufacturer achieved higher availability with a truly diverse secondary network that supported its requirement for a custom designed solution, which utilized a combination of network and access options. OSN`s dedication resulted in significantly higher network availability and overall cost reductions in network and operations.

Major Media Company

Large - Scale IP Access

 

THE OPPORTUNITY

This major media company had a time sensitive need for extensive broadband IP access to support its digital billboard installations. The challenge lay in the company`s lack of physical addresses and assigned phone numbers for each of its billboard locations. Furthermore, some locations were not even serviced by DSL or cable, prompting the client to search for an alternative solution.

THE SOLUTION

One Source Networks created a comprehensive design and implemented a full scale broadband IP solution that included a combination of wireless, DSL, T1, cable and satellite access technologies to reach each one of the locations. OSN provided complete project management for each implementation including testing and activation. The solution was also designed to ensure the client`s Network Operations Center (NOC) had the ability to monitor each circuit in real - time.

THE RESULTS

OSN delivered a full range of broadband solutions, leveraging relationships with multiple providers and designing a complex solution that integrated multiple access technologies all via a single contract. As a result, the client was able to implement its digital billboards without increasing its operations and IT staff headcount. Finally, OSN`s solution and ability to deliver on schedule enabled the client to save months of time on contract negotiations that would have severely jeopardized the project deadline.

Tax and Accounting Software Company

Increased Bandwidth and Reliability

 

THE OPPORTUNITY

As a leading tax and accounting company, the need for urgent bandwidth upgrade for tax season was vital. The company`s current carrier was unable to meet their needs in terms of bandwidth and reliability. Its ISP could not deploy enough bandwidth to the company`s data center to meet the rush, prompting the client to search for a better solution.

THE SOLUTION

OSN evaluated options near the client`s facility, including current services and potential builds. In order provide the best solution, OSN secured new fiber assets in close proximity to the customer`s data center. Custom design and service with a new fiber provider and ISP was made available to the customer in just one week. Deployment of new fiber and 10 Gig IP circuit was implemented in less than 30 days.

THE RESULTS

With OSN, the new 10 Gig IP circuit not only met, but surpassed the client`s deadline. OSN provided sufficient bandwidth to meet the company`s enterprise and individual accounting and tax needs. OSN prevented loss of revenue and allowed for additional growth.

National Health Care Provider

Collocation Service

 

THE OPPORTUNITY

This major health care supplier wanted to replace their data collocation service in Texas due to a lack of quick service turnarounds and price instability.

THE SOLUTION

OSN conducted a formal bid process with the majority of the collocation service providers in Northern TX. OSN evaluated each response and held initial negotiations with each supplier; weighting them across the customer defined CTQ`s including price, network capacity, environmental and service responsiveness. A list of the top five contenders was presented to the client who joined OSN for arranged site tours and then made the final supplier selection.

THE RESULTS

The client was able to double their floor space footprint in the data center as compared to their previous footprint, and achieved an overall reduction in cost. Upon review of the client`s data center connectivity requirements, OSN also offered new network solutions that allowed them to come under budget. The client estimated that their supplier selection process would have taken two extra months without OSN`s assistance and that they would not have secured such a low rate. As a result, the client decided to extend the collocation contract with OSN for five years. They are now extending this solution by having OSN evaluate their data center arrangements in other areas of the country.

Major US Insurance Company

International Private Line Connectivity from US to India

 

THE OPPORTUNITY

The insurance company faced bandwidth challenges. They had been increasing bandwidth in costly N x E1 increments to satisfy growing demand for point - to - point connectivity in India. This approach had been inefficient due to cost of bandwidth and hardware interfaces and each increase had extensive associated lead times for installation. The client was also approaching physical limitations of their deployed CPE configurations.

THE SOLUTION

One Source provided a flexible and easily upgradeable Carrier - grade Ethernet private line solution including end to end management. OSN helped to simplify the network design by displacing the requirements for peripheral TDM muxes to bond their existing E1 private lines and instead, delivered a flexible and upgradeable 100Mb Ethernet handoff directly to the client`s router.

THE RESULTS

This client was able to save over $100K per year in network expenses with the new solution. Additionally, the client received a managed and streamlined service that improved reliability enabled them to scale their bandwidth to meet their future business requirements.
